Aussie-style brunch institution in Seminyak with an airy, plant-filled interior and solid wifi. The pulled-pork eggs Benedict and the coffee are the reasons it's always busy; tables in the back are quieter for calls.
Uluwatu Temple
Clifftop sea temple 70 meters above the Indian Ocean on the Bukit Peninsula. Stay for the Kecak fire dance at sunset in the amphitheater (buy tickets on arrival, around 5PM) and keep sunglasses and loose items away from the cheeky monkeys.

Clifftop bar overlooking the Uluwatu surf break, the spot for a sunset Bintang while watching pros ride the waves below. Sunday nights are the famous party; any other evening is a relaxed drink with the best view on the Bukit.

Free, easy 2 km ridge-top trail between two jungle valleys, starting behind the Warwick Ibah hotel. Go at sunrise before the heat and the crowds, and continue to Karsa Kafe in the rice fields for breakfast.
Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
Jungle temple complex in the heart of Ubud with moss-covered statues, giant banyan roots and 1,000+ long-tailed macaques. Leave food and loose items in your bag, and head to the dragon bridge in the ravine for the best photos.
Tegallalang Rice Terraces
Bali's most famous rice terraces, 20 minutes north of Ubud. Arrive before 8AM for soft light and empty paths; walk down into the valley past the swing platforms for quieter viewpoints and have a small donation ready for farmers along the trail.
Tirta Empul Temple
Holy water temple where Balinese come to purify themselves under carved spouts fed by a sacred spring. Rent a sarong at the entrance to join the ritual, and follow the order of the fountains (skip the ones reserved for funerals).
Tibumana Waterfall
A calmer alternative to crowded Tegenungan: a single curtain of water dropping into a jungle pool, reached by a short, easy path through the forest. Swimming is allowed and it's usually quiet before 10AM.
